Peninsula Farm

Housed in one of many National Trust of Western Australia properties, Peninsula Tea Gardens is located at the site of one of the first farms, Peninsula Farm, in the colony and the earliest metro residence still standing.

The tea room was erected in 1984 as a warden’s cottage and converted to tea-rooms in 1995.

Peninsula Farm offers a unique opportunity to explore the first years of European settlement in Western Australia. It was constructed by Joseph Hardey in 1839 and tells the stories of the family and servants who ran the farm. It also tells of farming and how families and the young colony sustained themselves.
